If you are following my blog, you might have read that my boyfriend and I went on a trip to the Isle of Skye. I didn’t realise how many things I had to buy for hiking and camping on the island. If you want to go on a hiking and camping holiday, here a few things to bring with you.
Clothes
Waterproof hiking boots – I have Regatta ones
Walking and hiking socks – You can find them at Sports Direct, Mountain Warehouse or Tiso
Thermal T-shirts – Even in the summer it can be cold and windy on the Isle of Skye
Fleece and just some extra clothes to change if you get wet
Waterproof trousers and jacket – Essential for the Scottish weather
A raincoat – Even if you have the waterproof jacket, it’s better to bring a raincoat with you as well.Equipment
Walking poles (optional) – If you plan to go hiking, walking poles are a good idea. I got mine from Amazon
A waterproof backpack cover

Camping
A tent – This is self-explanatory
A sleeping mat
A sleeping bag – To keep you warm at night
Extra blankets
An airbed (optional)
A pillow (optional)
Extra pegs
A mallet– to help with putting the pegs in the ground
A head torch

Others
A flask – Always good to have one with hot water inside to make tea or soups
Food – Pack extra dry soups or noodles, just in case you are far from a store or a restaurant. Also, the restaurants in the southern part of the island close very early.
A spork – If you don’t know what that is, it’s a spoon, fork and knife in one. You can find it at any big store or online.
A camera – To photograph the amazing views!

I hope that this list will be helpful to you when you start planning your next camping or hiking trip.
